As a mother of 3 young girl, one of the foremost thoughts always in my mind is the way I am raising my girls. We are told to “train up a child in the way they should go” (Proverbs 22:6), but as a mother that can sometimes feel like a heavy load. I want to raise my girls to love the Lord and have a hunger for scripture. However, I also don’t want them to be legalistic or have a works-based faith. In order for that to happen, they must find faith for themselves. That means reading the Bible for themselves.
My 6 year old is a reading machine right now. She reads, or tries to read, everything (including commercials and billboards). Although she is still early in the learning process, I am fully aware of the importance of getting her in the Word. Now, if you have read my blog in the past, you will know I have several picture Bibles designed for the age group of children I currently have. I am starting to look ahead a few years to those pre-teen years. I was incredibly excited to have the opportunity to review this new Bible for kids.

The first thing that you will notice is how adorable the cover is. Right now it seems like there are sequins everywhere. We have books, stuffed animals, and even pillows covered in sequins, my girls love them. This is a Bible that a girl would love to carry. As I started looking through it I really liked the simplicity mixed with the extra features. In the very front there is a very easy to understand timeline to help the reader better understand the order of many important events in scripture. There are also a few color inserts with extra info, for example their is one about how to pray near the teachings in Matthew of the Lord’s prayer. There are also several sections with helpful reference information; Key Verses, Promises, Memory Verses, a dictionary, and some helpful maps. I love this Bible and think that it would be a great resource for any girl ages 9-14 (plus it minus a few years).
